I have not been able to access the Privacy Window in the Firefox Ver. 61 with and without saving history when closing. There is no "mask" indicator to let me know I am using the Privacy mode.

Please advise,

Murrdoc

Hi, if you have ticked/checked the box for use Tracking Protection Always then the mask goes away.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You do not see the purple mask when you are in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History). You also can't open a regular window since all windows you open are private browsing mode windows.

You can check whether you run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": "Always use Private Browsing mode"
