Is it possible to create a new profile that will automatically contain the same info (eg, email accounts) as an existing profile?

Rather than start from scratch, I would like to create a new Thunderbird profile that automatically contains the same email accounts and email account settings as my pre-existing Thunderbird profile. Is this possible? If so, how?

Many thanks for your help!

You copy the old profile and set Thunderbird to use the copy.

Is this for a new installation of Thunderbird, or a clean start, or something else?

Thanks, Zenos! It's neither for a new installation nor a clean start. I keep many of my emails -- and have many, many sub-folders -- so my default profile was getting very big, and therefore slow to respond. I wanted to create a duplicate profile, but with a new name, so that I could then go into that duplicate and pare away many of its emails and some of its folders.

I tried to do this, several weeks ago (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1182534), without success.

If you can tell me how to set Tbird to use the copy, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks again!
