How do I add a 2nd acct. to Thunderbird 38.5.0 on Windows 10?

more options

I only have the little icon at the top right corner that looks like 3 horizontal lines. When I click that I can see a file menu, but there is no "new" option under that menu! Also under the "tools" menu there is no "accounts" or anything like that. So how do I add a 2nd gmail account to my install of Thunderbird? Why do I have to come here to figure this out? I've used Thunderbird for a long time but this new version is weird! It seems that all of the instructions on how to add a new account here are for different versions than what I'm running. Thanks!

Most existing instructions are for the Menu Bar which is hidden in the newer versions. Press the alt key or F10 to make the Menu Bar appear. The new menus are very mixed up. You add a new account under New Message.

Just right click the account in the Folder Pane to get to Account Settings. You can add an account from there also.

I have no idea.

Thanks! That's retarded! How am I supposed to find out about the F10 trick without having to come here? Yeah, yeah, I know you already said you don't know. ;)

If Mozilla reads this I hope they rectify the problem.

F10 and the alt key has worked in Windows from about the beginning. I guess you are expected to know some basic computer skills. :)

Basic computer skills? I've been doing computer tech support since the MS-DOS days and have my A+ certification, so I think I qualify. I also worked for Apple Tech Support for more than 3 years. I've never heard of F10 or ALT bringing up a hidden menu. ;)

Then you have some learning to do. They are Windows shortcuts and work in most applications. You should probably remember them since the new trend is to hide Menu bars.
