I downloaded Firefox on a new MAC. Received message: "A device begin syncing with the devices connected to your Firefox account." Is there something I should be concerned about, or is this referring to my current installation of Firefox. Attached is a screenshot of the email message. Thank you.

Chosen solution

You're welcome, Barbara. Sorry for the cause of concern!

I have confirmed with the Mozilla Sync team this is a expected email when turning on Sync in Firefox on a new computer, tablet or phone. In the future, they will stop sending this type of email to avoid worrying people.

The screenshot did not get attached unfortunately. Can you try again?

I believe that the message you're seeing is expected. Especially if you typed in your Firefox Accounts username and password into Firefox on the new mac.

Thank you for your quick response.

I can't seem to attach the screenshot; it continues to "download" to no avail.

It says: "A device began syncing with the devices connected to your Firefox account." And, in small print: "This is an automated email; if you received it in error, no action is required. For more information, please visit Mozilla Support."

I thought this was likely expected, but would like to confirm.

Thank you again, Barbara
