Sometimes if i leave it, it reappears, even after opening a new Ff browser. Once it disappeared for a couple of days, then mysteriously cropped up again UNDER the one which is in my systray, replete with all my tabs still open!

If I DO open a new Ff window, I cant access old tabs, which seems to show that the browser does know that it is already running somewhere, even if I cant see it anywhere.

Is this a Ff thing or Windows 8?

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.

In the address bar, type about:crashes. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

I would like you to do the following. Download the full installer, and save it somewhere safe. Then remove Firefox program using the removal tool in the computer. Do NOT remove personal information.

Once the program is removed, open your programs folder and remove anything labeled Firefox or Mozilla.

Once that is done (are you dizzy yet?) open the computers registry editor. Do a search for Firefox and Mozilla and if found, remove them.

Reboot the computer. Once the system is done booting, go to and run the full installer that you saved.

I hope this gets rid of the problem.

No, I wouldn't dream of going to such lengths in the desperate hope that a problem we can't even identify goes away! Treat Firefox like the worst type of Symantec malware which needs purging from the system because it infects all sorts of places in the registry and otherwise cannot be removed??

Not particularly happy with that situation!

(incidentally, this problem now seems to exist without crash reports being generated: Only one in the last 4 weeks and it mysteriously doesn't coincide with the present problem)
