Norton is responsible for updating their toolbars. There is a bug in the Norton toolbar that is causing crashes for some users, but I'm not sure what it takes to start the crash.

You should update to Firefox 37.0.1 ASAP, the norton toolbar does nothing to increase your security and should actually be totally removed. Staying on an old version of Firefox actually means you are vulnerable to security holes fixed in the newer version, the norton toolbar is useless.

thank you for the info, but the reason i need norton toolbar is it saved all my passwords. do you think soon they will be compatible? when i started with firefox, norton was not compatible, then i went back to explorer and when they worked out the norton problem, i started to use firefox. i guess i will have to do the same thing.

Unlike with most Extensions, the one provided by Norton needs to be made for each new major version of Firefox .exe. Norton usually had a liveupdate for their toolbar extension within a couple days of Firefox release ever since Fx 5.0.

Just liveupdate Norton before or after updating Firefox and it should work just fine. It does for me. However, I find the norton toolbar quite useful and do not consider it useless.
