I installed Thunderbird a couple of days ago on Windows 7 Home Premium computer. After receiving NO emails and not able to send any emails, I read the advice on your support page, I allowed Thunderbird access through Firewall (Screenshot 1) and checked that the settings are correct (Screenshot 2 and Screenshot 3), I still received no emails, only pop-up message: "Connection to server .... timed out" (Screenshot 4). My service provider is Mweb.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

I assume you have followed the guide in Mweb for Thunderbird 7+ It looks allright but You might use Imap instead. It could be worth a try Look at http://www.mweb.co.za/help/Email/ViewArticle/tabid/3778/Article/14000/MWEB-Mail-Settings-Quick-Reference.aspx.

Ask you ISP what they want you to use.
