I am moving my boss from Internet Explorer to Firefox, and I am unable to find a way to import his passwords efficiently. I don't have time to write them all down and re-enter them. I have his bookmarks transferred using the wizard at the beginning of installation of Firefox, but that does not cover passwords. Is there a way, add-on, program, or back door that will do this for me?

This is a common task and we have an article explaining this

I hope that solves the problem, please post back with how you get on.

While I appreciate the effort, this article does not answer my question. The article only covers the following:

Internet Options: General settings, including your home page. Since Firefox and Internet Explorer have different features, Firefox won't be able to import all of your settings. Cookies: Small bits of information stored on your computer by some websites that are used to keep you logged in, store your options, or do other things. Browsing History: Information on the sites you have visited. Favorites: Web pages you have saved in your Internet Explorer favorites.

And, I have come across this article before I posted this question. I have tried this, with no success. This is also what the wizard covers when you first install Firefox.

Sorry I glanced at the article, saw mention of passwords and thought IE must have changed so that passwords could be exported. I tend not to use IE or even Windows that much these days.

A quick web search throws up references to open source software Kee Pass it would appear that may enable you to sort this out. See:

It will at least allow passwords to be exported from IE.

Password exporter, despite its name appears capable of importing passwords into Firefox.

I have not tried any of these but they look like worth trying.
