I have tried opening firefox for Android and firefox nightly and neither application on Android will open about:config. I have tried tapping the icon on the "about firefox nightly" workaround to enable debugging and even then I have no luck. What am I missing? Thank you.

Hi

As these versions of Firefox for Android that you have downloaded and installed directly from the Google Play store?

You should find that the Beta and Nightly ones will accept about:config when entered into the address bar.
