Next time, instead of restarting Firefox, could you try reloading the page bypassing the web cache? This would flush files used to build the page that Firefox saved from previous visits to the page and force a fresh retrieval. To do that, either:

• Shift+click the Reload button on the toolbar
• press Ctrl+F5
• press Ctrl+Shift+R

Is the alignment correct after that?

jscher2000 thanks for your time and input into this problem but nothing that you suggested helped. If I restart Firefox then that solves it. This did not start until the last Firefox update. I feel this is a bug from the last update. I am attaching a new screen shot after I tried your suggestions.

Some sites redraw when the window size or perceived resolution changes. Any difference if you zoom out a couple times and then back in, or resize the window? For the zooming, hold down the Ctrl key and tap - two times, then tap + four times, then tap - two times to return to normal.

Hello and thank you again for responding and for you suggestions. Since our last conversation I went as far as uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it. It did not help but I have been playing with the Ctrl key and tap - two times, then tap + four times, then tap - two times to return to normal. It seems to have helped and I am in the process of testing it with different search routines to see if it holds. I will keep testing throughout the day when I can and will get back with you with results. Thank you much.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.
