As Tor Browser for Android is based on Firefox I thought I might resolve this issue here.

Whenever I attempt to install an add-on I get a popup: Error "Software instillation has been disabled by your system administrator'

So what do I need to enable in about:config (typically there's no 'lockpref') to get rid of this 'error', which cripples the Browser right from the start? it's not an issue in its idiot twin-sister, the desperately slow and bug-ridden Orfox, nor is it an issue in desktop Tor.

Hi

We support Firefox for Android here and I would recomend that you cintact the Tor project directly for help with this software.

As far as I am aware, their mobile browser does not support add-ons. Whilst there are several about:config preferances relating to add-ons, I am not sure which would need to be altered in their browser. The Tor project are best placed to help you with this.

Alright, I'll post on Reddit's Tor sub.

If this browser doesn't support add-ons then it's rather lazy and unprofessional of Tor to keep the add-ons function active in Tools with 'Your Add-ons' (with several pre-installed add-ons), and a "Browse all Firefox Add-ons" link.

Hi

Fair point, but this is something they will be able to provide further guidance on.
