After having to restore Firefox, now, whenever I open a new tab, and go to a website, it places a tile on the page; this happens on all sites visited.

Recently, we had to restore Firefox. Now, whenever I open a new tab, and go to a website, it places that site as a tile on the page; it used to do this on only frequently visited sites (which I prefer); now it places a tile on ALL visited sites, and I keep having to remove them; how can I change it back to only the frequent sites? Thank you, Terri

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 25.0.0.171

As to your question, you are talking about the Firefox :newtabs page, yes?

Firefox keeps a list of all visited sites via history. It also keeps track of how many times you visit the site. The Newtabs page displays this list with the most visited sites listed first.

If you place your mouse on one of the icons, you will see an X on one side and a lock on the other. Pressing the lock locks that icon in place. Pressing the X removes it (until you visit the site again).
