So I tested this in the current version and the Downloads have a cleared list but when I used a file explorer they are still there. Please try a File Explorer app to see the local files. *[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en] I would suggest to try to see if the files are still in the downloads folder, and if they are not let's find out what kind of files this is happening to as well as what device/tablet you have.
