My spell checker works fine. But for one thing that is. If I look up a word, spell checker gives me a list to choose from. All well and fine. But when I look up a second word, or a third, or more, the spell checker not only gives me a list for the current lookup, but all the other look-ups since Firefox was started. I found and installed United States English Spellchecker 7.0.1, but the problem is still there. Is there any kind of control panel for spell checker? All I ever found was the on / off switch. Is there a way to reinstall it?

You have a lot of add-ons. Do any of them relate to configuration of right-click context menus? If so, try disabling those.

Of course, if the problem still occurs in Safe Mode, then never mind. To test:

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

If you only use a few extensions regularly and don't really need most of them then you can consider a new profile to cleanup things.

See "Creating a profile":

You can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile.

jscher2000; I disabled some of the add-ons, and the problem cleared. Later, I'll try to find out what is causing the problem. Thank you very much for your help.

cor-el; I would agree about the number of add-ons. Some that I don't use all the time I leave in but disabled. Thank you for your help.
