Hi everyone,

I want to install Thunderbird 60 on a laptop in order to access a local file containing very old Gmail mails. The ImportExportTools extension will, apparently, only work with this version, not the latest one. (I've tried the latest Thunderbird).

I cannot find the installation file for TB 60, only release notes. Can someone help?

Thanks in advance.

Sonja.

Before you go to the trouble of installing an older TB, note that an mbox file, the large files with no extension, named after folders, that are in the Mail/Local Folders, Mail/<popserver> or ImapMail/<imapserver> folders in the profile folder or profile backups, can be read in any version of TB, including 91, by copying the mbox file into Mail/Local Folders of the active profile. Help/More Troubleshooting, Profile folder, Open Folder, to open the active profile. Copy the mbox into Mail/Local Folders, then restart TB and find the folder under Local Folders in the Folder Pane.

If you have a gmail file obtained by the Takeout service, remove the .mbox extension.
