1. Set mozilla as default browser of links. 2. Go to twitter or google news app. 3. Click on a link. Link opens in mozilla. 4. Click android back button.

The opened tab closes , mozilla minimizes and calling app comes to screen. While in default browser of android, tab will not close.

I need to customize mozilla to not close tab on system back button and return to calling app. This helps in opening a number of links like news articles from news app and then reading them all together. Currently to do same, we can select calling app from system recents. It is two step process and clumsy.

I don't believe that there is an option to change that behavior. Using the Android app switch button would avoid this. If your phone does not support that button long pressing on home should work similarly.

Forgot to mention something we are working on is to create an Android intent that allows sending the tab to Firefox in the background. So you could open a few links from something like Twitter then switch to Firefox when you choose.

Yes, that would be a solution. When can we expect such release?

It is still in development I cannot say for sure. If it gets done in the next 6 weeks it would be 18 weeks from today. If it still needs work then future releases which show up in increments of 6 weeks.
