When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here:

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

You might also edit the search box in the View Cookies dialog to ebaystatic.com and clear those cookies as well.

Then try reloading the page. Can you log in?

Thanks but still cannot sign in. Cannot find server ebay.sign in.com

Hmm, the domain in your last message is backwards....

If you sign in directly from the home page, does that work? I get this link:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn

I forgot to ask whether you can log in normally from IE.

If this problem affects both browsers, there may be a problem with the DNS servers your computer is using, or the host name signin.ebay.com might be blocked by filtering software (e.g., security suite, parental monitoring) or in the Windows hosts file.
