If I go to Tools, Add-Ons, and Check to see if your plugins are up to date, Firefox uses https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to check, and fails every time with the error Plugin Finding Service Error.

If I manually go to the non SSL site http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to check it works.

I noticed that the site to check is in plugins.update.url in about:config, so I can change it there.

This all worked before updating Firefox 9 to 10.

Any idea why the https: site doesn't work every, but the http: site does?

Are you using both SSL and TLS protocols in -> Options window - Advanced panel - Encryption tab

I am using both of them and when i go to the PluginsCheck link using either http or https they both work.
