Firefox starts very slowly. AVG antivirus flags it for high memory uses in excess of 200. Last and maybe related too frequently initial sign in fails with a message too many attempts.

What should I do?

What units? Do you mean 200 megabytes? That does not seem excessive to me. The amount of memory in computers these days is in gigabytes. Using 200 megabytes is not going to tie up memory excessively.

ok it is 236; if that's within range, why do they flag it. Justify their existence?

There are two other pieces: Firefox starts very slowly. And second, too often when I sign in initially for the day, I am rejected as too many attempt to sign in have been made.

I'm looking over my shoulder.

At any rate, thank you for the initial reply.

If you are using an AVG toolbar or other extension with Firefox, maybe Firefox is having a problem with it, in which case disabling that would maybe fix the speed problem. Trying that will not hurt, anyway.
