I watch news video every morning using FFox. Today the video displayed as a blank white space. I switched to IE7 and received an error message that flash player upgrade was needed. After I downloaded the upgrade with IE7 the video played fine on FFox. Why no error message from FF?

Flash player for IE is completely separate from Flash for other browsers. Do you still have the problem in Firefox? If so try updating the version of Flash for other browsers. See Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems
