Will IE's input field "cleaning-cross" makes it way into Firefox?

Dear Sir / Madam:

Already some time ago the Internext Explorer web browser introduced a single-step emptying/cleaning of input fields, i.e., a cross at the very right of the input fields. By clicking on said cross, one completely cleans/empties the input field in one single step.

I am aware of common work-arounds: e.g., Cntrl+a ("choose all") and next either Del(ete) or alternatively Cntrl-x ("cut"). Or, using the mouse you highlight the text which you want removed, and next you hit Del(ete). Etc.

Still, that one-click cleaning executed with the mouse is a really convenient/efficient user interface feature which the Internet Explorer team has come up with.

I'd love to see this user interface feature makes it way into my favorite web browser, The Firefox.

Thank you in advance for info and/or hints/advice!

Best regards,

Rodraven
