How do I close a Tab without opening Mozilla? (a malware tab will not let allow itself to be closed)

A malware web page will not allow me to close its tab, nor close Firefox. I can close Firefox using Task Manager but when I restart Firefox, the malware tab has restarted and will not let me close it, open any other tab, or close Firefox by normal means. I expect that if I can edit the list of startup tabs from the Private Window, I will then be able to start the browserr without this malware page controlling the browser.

Ideally, it would be much easier to prevent malware web pages from preventing themselves from being closed.

This add-on can stop such pages; disallow Script Button {web link} The Disallow Script button looks like a letter "M" and the title is the Minus Script, drag and drop the button on a toolbar. If the button is not displayed then nothing operates, except rules for plugins.

Another way out of the trap is to (force it if needed) Close Firefox. Wait about 20 seconds for Firefox to finish closing. Right click on the Firefox icon and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit. This will flush out that web page from the Session Store.
