After updating the firefox to 41.0, when I select "Remember passwords for sites", the username/password appear in different input box in different page.

e.g. I save the username/password in below input in one page: <input id="j_username" name="j_username" class="text required" placeholder="Username" autocomplete="off" type="text">

but the same username/password appeared in other page of input: <input autocomplete="off" class="input-text username1" type="text">

BTW: only version 41.0 has this problem, old version (say 40.00.xx) has no this problem.

Do your self a favor and go back to Google

No any clue in google and I doubt that t is a bug in firefox 41.0....

Does Firefox actually fill the password in a text field (type="text")?

Note that form autocomplete (save form data) can store data like names and this data is only identified via the name of the input field and thus can show on other pages that have an input field with the dame name as well.

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

yes. though disable remembering history in firefox resolve this problem. but this problem is also weird: 1. the type=text input is not put anything before and the fill info is the login page's username and password (totally in different pages and with different attributes: class/id/name). 2. only firefox 41.0 has this problem , previous version has no this problem.

hello, experts, any more comments on this problem? thanks!

I use a form filling add-on. It can fill in general information on any web page (name, address) and also fill in information on a per web site basis, like usernames and passwords.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
