Bookmarks don't appear in library

My bookmarks appear in the Bookmarks drop down menu, but not in the Library, or when I click the star in the address bar to create new bookmarks. What's wrong? Thanks.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
