That's basically it I'm trying to download Firefox on a Archos101 G9 and I'm being required to add or create a google account. I went to the Mozilla Firefox download page and selected Android, which brings me to a page asking if I want to use an existing Google account or create a new one and no way to skip this step. At first I thought it was asking if I wanted to associate this Firefox download with my firefox account so it could sync my bookmarks and such but that's not it.

Nope it will always be a Mozilla product. Generally when you want to install a app on a Android device you do so from places like Google Play which hosts a large variety of things.

You can also get it from say https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/android/all/
