Slow cursor response in WordPress Editor

Problem

Since the last few updates, using FireFox to do any work in the WordPress visual editor or text editor show cursor response to lag or is delayed. This is especially annoying when you hit backspace several times and the cursor does not respond accordingly, but after a delay it does and moves in a jerky motion for each backspace keystroke you made. - annoying.

At times, the WordPress visual editor lags when trying to use it.

Fix

Deactivate FireFox spell check. This is the cause.

I found this to be the cause when I troubleshoot the lag issue by deactivating WordPress plugin, theme changed to WordPress default theme, FireFox Add-ons deactivated, and the lag issue remained.

To get to the FireFox spell check setting, go here,

(top text menu) - Tools > Options > Advanced (left side menu) > General tab > uncheck "Check your spelling as you type".

This setting will be reactivated by default when FireFox is updated.

Need a spell check in the browser? - find an Add-on that works and does not conflict with WordPress editor.

If you have a bug, file a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Bug Writing Guidelines : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

No, filing a bug report does not resolve the issue, how can it? The bug or issue remains.

I filed a bug report, but this post here needs to stay because, generally, people will not think to search Mozilla bug reports, they come here to find answers.

The only answer to this problem is Mozilla fixing the bug and while waiting for Mozilla to fix it, find a FireFox Add-on to address spell checks that do not conflict with the use of WordPress visual/text editor -- which I did by the way.

As a note, at the time of this post, there is no free WordPress plugin that is worth using for spell checks in WordPress.

Thanks.

Well the object was to get you to file a bug report as with out one it sitting here gets no action. Plus this is not indexed for search only solutions are. So this can sit and it just moves down the list to obscurity.

To submit suggestions for new or changed features, may I suggest: Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/

Should also file with Word Press as that seems more of the solution.

Wow, that is bad for this kind of forum.

Lucky this forum allows Google to index it, else this forum would be totally useless. - which, by the way, is why I posted it. I don't expect Mozilla to fix this bug anytime soon, if at all (somethings they just ignore). So getting this listed in Google was my priority and glad I did, now that you tell me that it is useless to search here when at this forum.

Oh yes, I also posted this in WordPress.org in their forum.

but, people can use Google Advanced search, ( https://www.google.ca/advanced_search ) to search this forum.
