I cant view saved images in firefox 3.6

I saved a few pictures from a friend in my Yahoo mail to my pictures folder, but when I try to open them all I get is a page full of jumbled letters and no pictures.

Make sure that the files have a valid file extension for an image file like .jpg

You can check the file type in the Properties via the right-click context menu of a file.
If that doesn't show that the file is an image file then you need to rename the file(s) and add a .jpg file extension.
You probably need to add quotes ("image.jpg") around the name to make that work.
