My file of pictures and documents is stuck on a page and won't close so that I can go back to the home page

While trying to create a file of pictures to email them I isolated some pictures into a folder, but now all that shows when I open the complete site is 3 folders and I can't close them to do anything else. How do I shut ths page down and return to normal? It seems that all my pictures and material are deleted some how.How do I restore these collected things?

firefox is a Browser not a file manager.
