Spam...............but not spam

I am using beta build 129.0b3 of Thunderbird, don't think the issue I'll describe is related to the beta build tho. I am using SpamAssasin to identify spam type mails. I'll include a screenshot to best illustrate my concerns...(attached)

Even tho I continually go into my spam folder, I seem to veyr much need to do this, so many of my regualr mails now end up there. I right click on each to Mark - Mark not as junk and yet over the days of use they are still being sent to that junk folder. As an exampl the ones from Meta are receipts for virtual games bought from their store. Several days back I marked those as not junk, the header of the mail rarely changes, but still they are being sent to my junk folder.

Within Outlook, on line, those mails are meant to be diverted to my Meta folder. If I was to go back to using Outlook, avoided opening it for quite some time now, I would expect to find those mails within that folder, and the Amazon ones within a Amazon folder. That is due to rules created for their placement within such folders.

I guess my question is two part.....

why do such mails seem to persist in being marked as spam..? Secondly is there a ways to ensure they end up in their intended folders..?

by right clicking on them now they ar ethe nsent to my general inbox, including the BBC type.

Is there no such thing as a safe senders list tha tcan include omains and indivudal people / companies etc..?

Bonjour, Suite à la dernière mise à jour, (Thunderbird 115.13), la police de rédaction des messages est devenue toute petite par défaut. J"ai essayé toutes les solutions proposées par l'aide de Thunderbird en passant par les les paramètres et l'éditeur de configuration cela ne change rien. Je peux bien sûr augmenter la police en modifiant à chaque mail mais ce que je veux c'est retrouver la fonctionnalité qui me permettait de ne pas avoir à re sélectionner la hauteur des caractères à chaque fois. j ai pu modifier la taille de l 'interface entière mais cela ne change pas la police dans les messages. Si vous avez une solution je vous serais très reconnaissante !

Hello, my friend has a problem because he deleted the Thunderbird Pop 3 account from his computer. It contained all his company emails that are not on the server.

So suddenly the entire company doesn't have access to them.

Is there any possibility of recovering such a deleted account? I have already looked everywhere... Is there any way to recover this account on the computer?

Then he could create such an account again and transfer all e-mails to the server and then configure imap. Is there any possibility?

About two days ago (july 23, 2024), Thunderdbird could no longer connect to GMail without any changes from my side AFAIK. I'm getting a window saying "Enter credentials" with a Next button that results in a 404 error (see images). Does anybody know what went wrong here?

Please provide a column that shows the real address / domain of incoming emails. Many emails now pretend to come from a safe legitimate company, but you cannot easily sp… (ďalšie informácie)

Please provide a column that shows the real address / domain of incoming emails.

Many emails now pretend to come from a safe legitimate company, but you cannot easily spot them in Thunderbird. Thunderbird's Correspondents column shows the fake company name they are using, which is not helpful. The From column shows the same information (the fake name, but not the email address), so that doesn't help.

So I cannot tell the scam emails without clicking on the email and looking at it, which is dangerous.

Solution options:

1. Change the From column to report full address 2. Allow user to define what to show in From column (Name / Full email / Domain / Combination) 3. New columns "Sender Email Address" and "Sending Domain" 4. Add smarts to Thunderbird to highlight/block/move messages where sender is from visibly false address.

I hope you can jump onto this quickly. It would be a massively helpful popular feature.

Every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) A little information about my situation; I have used Thunderbird E-mail Program for years with my Hotmail Account, without any issues! I have also used "AVG Virus Protection" and I have Windows 10 Pro. My problem is every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) This problem started long before I installed your latest "Thunderbird Version 128.0.1esr (64-bit)" to try and solve this problem, it doesn't matter what I click on, on that pop-up, it keeps reappearing and I can't get my e-mails! However.......I can log into my Hotmail account using "Firefox Browser" and I can get my e-mails, but I don't like their ads, where as with Thunderbird there are no ads! :-) How do I get your program to work again? I assume something changed, to make it not work, but I don't now what that would have been, do you? (I have not changed the PW yet, hoping for a solution that will avoid the necessity.) I fear that it may be due to some fault in OAuth. Can anyone please provide any help to overcome this problem? I have several profiles in Thunderbird 115.9.0 (64-bit) on Win10 with each profile having few different email accounts which got created over a period of time since we had changed some mail service providers (mail hosting server) earlier.

Profile A1 -Email account a -Email account b (period Jan2022 - till date) -Email account c

Profile A2 -Email account p (period Jan 2020 to May 2020) -Email account q -Email account r

Profile A3 -Email account x (period Apr 2020 to Aug 2020) -Email account y

Profile A4 -Email account z (period Jan 2017 to Dec2019)

In reality the email account "b", "p", "x" & "z" are the same.

Question 1) So how ii can merge all my emails from different emails accounts located into different Profiles into a one single mail account and profile. Please note that the option to retrieve old mails from server is not there as the service provider has changed so i want to merge all past emails into one mail folder from local TB database only.

Question 2) After merging, there might be some duplicate emails in the same folder. How do i remove the duplicates and keep single copy.

Please advise.

Especially at the end were it say's:

"Click “Done,” a Microsoft log in window should pop up"

That info is totally mssing in those TB Articels I've found.

And with the help from that page I managed to add one of my MS Account to TB (as IMAP), BUT not as a POP3 account that it has always been set as.

And if I try to add an MS Account as POP3 WITH OAuth2 in TB, this "Microsoft log in window should pop up" never shows at all! And then the account ain't working = TB can't poll for mail.

And I can't find out how to Convert/Change an existing IMAP/OAuth2 MS account to be a POP3/OAuth2 account ?! Is that at all possible?

(And why doesn't TB have a PopUp Windows (as in old Outlook Express and Win Live Mail) for when it polls for mail, so one can see what happens with every account, and then clearly read in that windows IF there were something wrong at any specific account. The TB "Activity Manager" doesn't show these thing, but it should!)

(Also TB should check for new mail in ALL Folders, as in SPAM (GMail), in JUNK (MS), and in TRASH, it could be a Setting for each account (or General) to make TB do that.)

Hi all Win11/TBird116 Some months ago i set up filters for the first time, and it was a nightmare, as i had filters sending eml back and forth on startup. I removed all filters, and now i have tried to set up 1 extremely simple filter. It won't run and gives me the error as in SUBJECT above. Also, i have tried to use the 'move to' (from one inbox to another), and checking the "Activity Manager" it shows that a few minutes ago i successfully moved 1 message from one inbox to another inbox but it seems entirely random that it might work, or not.

i've been using TBird since the oughts and handled 15 accounts without filters (other than the auto-spam) Is it possible that the multi-filter 'adventure' messed up the application wholesale? I've installed several updates since then.

please advise

Hi,

I have used thunderbird as a default email client solely for the purposes of working with Autoquotes software which auto populates links in the form of the body of an email. Typically, I select email on the Auotquotes program and a Thunderbird email pops up with the subject line being the Quote name, and the Body of the email containing the links. I've included a screenshot attached of how it SHOULD look.

I just installed thunderbird and autoquotes on a new computer. However when I choose to email the quote, the thunderbird email window DOES pop up, the quote name is in the subject line, however there is NOTHING in the body of the email.

Is there any way to fix this?
