when clicking on an email address in the address book there name goes to the To line as well, i don't want to have the name of the person that's in my address book to be sent along with there email address when sending emails. is there a way of changing that thanks

The only way is to leave the Display name empty in you Address Book. You can fill in the First and Last name of the contact and afterwards clear the Display name.

that's unfortunate because i have helpful hints beside there name to remember who they are like Bob (tennis) or Bob (work) and i didn't want that sent as well. Ok i think i found a way leave the display box empty and put there name under organization and it will show up in the name column again but will not be put in the TO box with your email address, i hope i explained it good enough thunderbird101
