removing Babylon and babylon search engine

Was infested with Babylon so I was really ticked off wrote a nasty note to the makers of this software.. They sent me this response.. And yes I did try a number of things before I did the following

For Firefox: Write in the adress line "about:config" and enter. Confirm the message. Look for "Babylon". Right-click the entries and click "Reset".

Nothing worked till I did this.. I went tru and reset every item in the list.. and now no longer have to deal with it redirecting me. I did try removing the program from the program list, I did remove all from my registry, I did remove from my search engine list.. nothing worked until I got this information from the manufacturer of this software with a giant apology

In order to uninstall Babylon and all its features completely, follow the 4 steps below : 1) Uninstall Babylon Software: http://support.babylon.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/177/0/uninstall-babylon-software

2) Change Babylon Home Page (Internet Explorer \ Firefox \ Google Chrome): http://support.babylon.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/175/0/change-babylon-home-page

3) Remove Babylon search provider http://support.babylon.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/174/0/change--babylon-search-engine


4) Tab issue: In case you open a new tab, and Babylon Search still appears, please do the following:

For Internet Explorer: Open your Internet Explorer browser, click on "Tools", then "Internet Options" and in the section "Tabs" click on "Settings". It will open a new window, on the option "When a new tab is opened, open:" in the drop-down menu please choose "Your first homepage". Then click OK, Apply and OK.

For Firefox: Write in the adress line "about:config" and enter. Confirm the message. Look for "Babylon". Right-click the entries and click "Reset".

For Google: 1.Click on Customize and control Google Chrome (wrench icon) and select settings. 2. click the Manage search engines... button. 3. Select Google from the list and make it your default search engine. 4. Select Search the web (Babylon) from the list remove it by clicking the "X" mark. On startup ?mark the Open a specific page or set of pages?? click set pages?? put your home page, if you see Babylon on the list, click the "X" mark.

After getting the information from Babylon software I was able to remove it. I also mentioned the things I did that were useless in removing the malware

So in answer to your question It is fixed thanks
