For some reason my Thunderbird email has become extremely slow downloading or sending messages. Norton and Defender have not found anything unusual. What can i do ?
Can someone tell me what i can do to correct this problem - it only started to happen a few days ago.

Please start *Windows'* in safe mode with networking enabled win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird
Does problem go away?
Too technical for me - i'm in my late 70's and self taught on the computer - just use it to arrange on my Sibelius Notation program - will have to wait until one of the grandkids calls in to see us. Thank you though. david B
Hello seraeliemy While the advice given to you is perfectly correct, there may be a simpler way to fix it, that is, start Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode (Help / Troubleshoot). This will disable all add-ons and restart. If you don't have any add-ons, it may not bring much joy. But some persons install add-ons that can slow Thunderbird and this mode allows to quickly find if it is the case.
