I have been using Thunderbird for many years to read and send my verizon.net email. 2 days ago I started getting the error message "Sending of password for user ____@verizon.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded [SYS/TEMP] server error - Please try again later." I am running Thunderbird 91.5.0 on Windows 10. In the various help files, I see reference to OAuth2 authentication. Thunderbird won't let me select this for pop.verizon.net. I tried automatically selecting authentication but Thunderbird sets authentication to "Normal". The AOL documentation shows that I can use IMAP instead of POP, but Thunderbird won't let me set anything but POP. How can I get reconnected to verizon.net email? Thanks Penn Hess

Thanks for the response. I hadn't set up an app password because of the statement by AOL that it was a one time password. I deleted the saved passwords in Thunderbird and set up an app password. It seems to be working. Thanks
