When Thunderbird starts, my profile (all my e-mail accounts) are missing, and a window pops up to start adding new accounts - it may be opening a new, empty, profile. I do not get any 'missing profile' type error messages, but the Mail and News Accounts are all missing.

I think Thunderbird may have updated when I rebooted my computer. It is now on 68.4.2 (32-bit), with Windows 10 Home OS Build 18362.592.

I tried a few suggestions I found: deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file (a new, much smaller, one was created when I restarted Thunderbird and the problem was still there. I opened Help->Troubleshooting Information->Application Basics->about:profiles, and the display was: Profile: default This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. Default Profile yes Root Directory C:\Users\Dad\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\if2qwkpx.default Local Directory C:\Users\Dad\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles\if2qwkpx.default The if2qwkpx.default profile folder is physically in both of those locations.

I may have been trying to solve the wrong problem - my profile is there, but all my e-mail accounts are gone.

I'm not sure what try try next.

Thanks!

> my profile is there, but all my e-mail accounts are gone.

And there was only one profile?
