I have not previously had problems running Firefox (before today). When Firefox repeatedly crashed at startup I updated Firefox - still crashed at startup. I tried safe mode - still crashed. I checked OS updates (mine was already up to date). I uninstalled Firefox, re-downloaded it and tried again - still crashed at startup. Tried running the newly downloaded Firefox (i.e. no plugins, themes, etc.) in safe mode - still crashed at startup. It actually starts loading the webpage (Mozilla default) but crashes within a few seconds. Firefox also freezes up if I try to use the safe mode dialog box - if I check any boxes it will not continue or allow me to uncheck boxes, but if I just click through on 'continue in safe mode' it goes ahead and loads Firefox - and then crashes. Seems that Firefox just crashes after a certain amount of run time (few seconds) or freezes if it's in a dialogue box (same time frame). No problems running Safari or Chrome or any other programs, just Firefox. Suggestions?

The attached crash report doesn't have any data in it, so it doesn't help the find a cause of the crashes.

If you have one that does have data in it if you check the link then please post the crash ID of such a crash.

Try a clean reinstall of Firefox and drag the current Firefox application to the trash.

You can also try to do some maintenance.

Try to repair the disk permissions:

You can do a check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:

I'm not sure if this is the same crash report I posted earlier or not, but this is all I've got (I deleted all of the old crash reports, along with everything else, when I reinstalled Firefox). https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-d4faaebe-dac2-43fe-8fa7-da8852120106

Incidentally, Firefox opened today just fine with no further tinkering on my part. I have absolutely no idea what happened. Of course, now I've lost all of my plug-ins, themes, and bookmarks. Not happy.
