I had a stuck e-mail. Need to sign off and sign back in to clear. How do I do this?

An e-mail downloaded and got stuck. You can remove(delete) it but it comes back and blocks all the following e-mails, I finally blocked the e-mail but still can't receive, Admin. told me to try signing off and sign back in.

Try going to your email provider's website, logging in to your email account there and dealing with the troublesome message there.

My guess is that the message is broken in some way and so can't be successfully and completely downloaded into Thunderbird.
