How can I get my emails to download when one email seems to be stuck in my TB download queue?

I've used TB for years and not had this problem before. This problem started today. Whenever I "Get mail" an email from 1:20 this afternoon gets downloaded but none of the other 70 emails in the queue get downloaded. I checked my email account on my phone and that stuck email is gone and all the later emails are available. But all those later emails will not download to TB. I closed and restarted TB and rebooted my laptop but neither helped. It's definitely a problem with TB that started this afternoon.

No, you need to go to your email provider's webpage using a proper web browser. I know from experience that phones don't necessarily operate on the message store on the server.

Log into your account at your providers web mail site and see if the problem email is there. If so you can delete it there and see if things free up.

Thanks...I already did that on my phone (verizon). The email is gone from my providers email box but continues to be the only one that downloads in TB. Every time TB checks email it downloads that same email...there are now 6 unread copies in my TB inbox and I keep deleting them.
