I can't update to the latest version of Firefox. I have actually downloaded 12.0 several times and dragged the icon into my applications folder (I have a MAC with MAC OSX 10.5.8) but every time I open Firefox I get an annoying message saying that my Firefox is out of date and telling me to update. When I check what version I am using it says that I am using 12.0!!!! Please, how can these annoying messages be stopped? J

DO NOT WORRY you have the latest version (12.0) Your user agent is corrupted by Fast Browser Search (FBSMTWB) and that identifies you as Firefox/3.6.24

see your user agent:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2.24) Gecko/20111103 Firefox/3.6.24 FBSMTWB

you must reset user agent, see in the link the "Other causes" to do that easily

see also that page about Fast Browser Search (FBSMTWB in the user agent).
