Almost every time I let do an upgrade of an add on or Firefox itself, I loose my one click Bookmark icon (the star). With it goes my long list of folders and the bookmarks in them. HELP!!!!!

Sorry it is probably too late to help this time, but what you need to do when doing an upgrade is allow firefox to retain the personal data, that way it keeps your bookmarks. For added peace of mind it is also worth making manual copies of bookmarks and exporting them to another file on your computer every now and again especially before doing upgrades.
