I am not sure what you mean in respect of Substack. Please can you provide more information about the issue you are experiencing.

Maybe you should use Substack on Firefox to experience what it is doing to undermine it.

Why is Substack the only things that consistently "slows down" Firefox enough to generate a warning? Why does Firefox launch slower and less stably with each new version? I've had to attempt to launch Firefox up to three times before it stayed launched.

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.

How does one tell whether the Firefox on their computer is from the official Mozilla server or wherever else it might come from? Is Firefox 118.0.1 from Mozilla or...?
