First of all, I am using KDE Neon and my version of Thunderbird is 78.11.0

I was looking to read my emails through pythons mailbox library and the mbox file that I've read is in `~/.thunderbird/<Profile-Name>/*.mbox` but inside of my thunderbird directory is `'Crash Reports'/ ho4bladv.default/ 'Pending Pings'/ ebcc78zm.default-release/ installs.ini profiles.ini`.

I thought it might be in the ebcc... folder but I can't find an mbox folder in there either. There is an IMAP folder which seems to have my work account and personal account but there aren't mbox folders in there either. Am I doing something wrong here?

Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Directory, will open the profile folder. The mbox files in the Mail or ImapMail subfolders, e.g. Mail/pop.gmail.com, are the large files with no extension, named after folders.

Thank you for this, I believe mine is just labelled as INBOX for both my outlook and Protonmail. For what it is worth though, when I click on the Open Directory button next to the Profile Directory nothing happens. I assume it is supposed to call my file manager and open the directory there?

Yes, it should open the profile folder in the system file manager. Otherwise, you can navigate there directly:
