Ok, so I was having issues with the slideshows not working on all websites. I fixed that by clicking on the shield icon and disabled that and that fixed those issues. Here's my next problem. When I open a window in a website that is supposed to have a link in that new window the link isn't there, but the link works on another browser , Microsoft Edge. What setting am I missing? Thanks, Mr. Elliott

A lot, just like me. Fastest way to fix that : Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

It did not fix the problem.

The link issue has been around since at least 56 and is due to the way the websites assign document urls in some of the frameworks, this was for example evident in Wordpress if anyone uses self hosted installations.

You may want to reach out to them to ask them to check their compatibility with latest versions and technologies to ensure their site functions properly. Not everyone checks their code for cross browser compatibility and some do not always use the latest browsers to test them either.

Thanks for the response. I'll just use Microsoft Edge when I want to use those sites and Firefox the rest of the time. Low tech fix. ;)

Yes, certainly would work but I hate to see anyone have to jump through hoops. Unfortunately, many of the new frameworks that people use to build their sites, Angular being one of the most offending one, tend to make decisions in favor of their own logic that can break the front facing side of things and frustrate the heck out of people.

I wish they would consider the effect on the users as well as the need to stay on the bleeding edge of standards that might not be yet widely adopted or even in the worst cases, platform/browser specific. Hopefully the developers will make some user facing side tweaks to overcome some of these things.
