When I click the plus sign to open a new tab.The tab opens with bing pg and I hate bing. How can I stop thiis from happening.

Sounds like your browser.newtab.url pref was changed.

This extension will reset certain prefs to the default - browser.newtab.url - is covered. See "About this Add-on" for more details. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/

It will run automatically and then disappear.
