Use Norton 360 toolbar in firefox, sometimes crash is initiated by clicking on the Norton toolbar, other times for seemly no reason: only one page open nothing loading. Note that both a reset and reinstall of both Firefox and Norton has already been tried several times.

That is a problem with your Norton software.

Make sure that you have the latest updates of all Norton components and run Norton Live Update until you no longer get updates.

You can also try to ask advice at the Norton forum.

Norton is already completely up-to-date as is firefox, I am not entirely sure if Norton is the problem.

Trust me, Norton is

1. A HOG (for a 'background program', it can use a LOT of memory and CPU) 2. Known for breaking other programs 3. Expensive (there are plenty of cheaper security solutions)

Just try removing the toolbar.

Norton is only using 6,000 k of memory it never gets higher. It sounds like it has been a while since you used them, they are quite good memory wise now. You can actually get it pretty cheap on amazon.
