how do I change Firefox downloads to SD card?

I'm using a moto G6 play, running Android 9, Firefox is my default browser. Permissions include camera microphone and storage (not location or contacts), advanced permission granted for 'modify system settings'. I have installed an SD card, but can't get Firefox to switch to downloading to the SD card. How do I get Firefox to download to the SD card?

If I move the Internal storage Downloads folder to the SD card using the 'File' app would that do it?
On the SD card I discovered this nesting:

SDcard¹> Android> data²> org.mozilla.firerox> files> 'Download' & 'temp' folders, both empty. This would appear to be the target location.

It may not be worth noting that: ¹) a folder set 'DCIM'> 'Camera', created at the SDcard level is in use, and ²) there are many app & function folder sets in 'data' all sub-folders are empty.
I told you all I think is relevant, I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

I don't know what happened to the formatting, the sentences that start with "If I move" and "It may not" not only changed fonts but they didn't wrap you have to scroll out to the right to see the whole sentence. I didn't see any problem before I posted, and there's no way for me to edit it. Sorry about that.
