Once again I'm being signed out of ALL SITES when firefox closes and my computer shuts down/ restarts. I've dealt with this for about four months now with no fix? Terrific, nothing more do I love than constantly having to sign in, it's like check marking "keep me signed in" is supposed to be a joke when using ff. I can restart my computer three-to-four times; however, around the fourth-to-fifth time I'm mysteriously and magically signed out of everything, even my FireFox account.

Update since last ticket was posted, and temporarily, but not permanently resolved: I had 'Dr. Clean' on my computer but I zapped it off my computer two weeks ago, and this didn't resolve anything. Yes I've edited the 'clear history when ff closes' to only clear cache, search/ form, and yes I don't want to switch to Chrome, but I will.

Profile data can be removed or not recorded in several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (In the address bar,
    type about:preferences#privacy<enter>)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.

Make sure you install Firefox properly to prevent Firefox from creating a new profile.

Open the Firefox Disk Images file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Images, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.

It is also best to close Firefox yourself (Firefox -> Quit Firefox) and not let the OS close Firefox to avoid issues. On Mac things can be more complicated because you can close all open windows, but keep Firefox running with the menu bar visible or minimized to the Doc.
