Thunderbird just stops when I am down loading emails. It shows at the bottom that it is down loading 1 of 29 then it justs stops without any error message.
I have not changed any passwords or settings before my incoming mail just stops.

Try these:
1. Backup the Profile folder. In fact, you should do this regularly in any case. Backup the entire computer regularly.
2. Right-click the Inbox, choose Properties, then click the Repair Folder button.
3. Select the Inbox, then Compact Folders. Menu: File: Compact folders.
4. The Thunderbird Inbox is the most used folder, with e-mails going into and out of it all the time. Thus it is the most vulnerable to being corrupted. Therefore you need to treat it carefully. Please read and follow the advice in the article Keep it working - Thunderbird. If you don't follow this advice, your Inbox will continue to get corrupted occasionally, and you may lose e-mails when it happens.
Thank you but repairing the inbox folder routine did not work. It must be something more serious. I have cleaned out all my old emails and made sure that I have compacted as well. Will have to go to another email program soon.
There may be an e-mail in the server Inbox that is malformed and Thunderbird is having a problem downloading it.
Log into your webmail and look at the most recent e-mail in the Inbox. Read it and either delete it or move it to another folder. Then see if Thunderbird will download the messages. If not, then try doing the same thing with the next e-mail in webmail, and/or the oldest e-mail that is not already in Thunderbird.
