I want to know how to transfer a download from a web site to my hard drive.

When I click on the item I want to download a window appears where I have the choice to 'run' or 'save'. When I click on 'run' the text appears. I can then read and print it. When I click on 'save' nothing happens. Is 'save' supposed to transfer the item to the hard drive on the computer? If so where should it be transfered to in case a choice is provided? Is the procedure in Firefox different from Internet Explorer? My os is XP

Hi,

This issue generally occurs when you define a non existing drive in the following path: tools> options> under "General" tab> Save files to :

if you have 2 drives C: and D: and you mention any other drive other than this. Ex: you define: "E: \ My Downloads" in "save file to" the browser will not be able to identify the extra unavailable drive and the download will get cancelled when you try save it.

See if this is the issue in the option and correct for the error.

Hope this resolves you issue.
