Restoring Emails after Resetting PC
I had to reset my PC due to a Windows 10 Update downloading during a time I specified not to and I inadvertently left the machine on battery only.
I can see the file contents of emails in the windows.old folder but have been unable to restore them.
I followed instructions on the Mozilla Support site and I now have a Thunderbird folder and a Thunderbird folder with my user name in it and another additional profile has appeared.
Can anyone out there assist? Thank you.
Chosen solution
In 'windows.old' folder Your profile is located here: C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird
In the 'Roaming' folder will be a 'Thunderbird' folder. Copy that 'Thunderbird' folder. It will contain all your profiles and 'profilies, ini' file -so you are copying everything when you copy that 'Thunderbird' folder.
On PC (not windows.old)
Exit Thunderbird now , if it is running.
Your profile should be located here:
C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\
You should only have one 'Thunderbird' folder in the 'Roaming' Folder.
Delete it.
Then in the 'Roaming' folder, paste in the copied 'Thunderbird' folder.
start Thunderbird.

Many thanks for your response.
I have all my emails back in exactly the places that they were before.
Thank you very much.
