NSTMP files - Very Large, Revised Local Folder & Reduced Cache File
Issue:
- Deleting the NSTMP files as recommended solves the problem of a crashing system. However, it cycles back again and again without resolving anything. The files take as many as 200 GB +/-, they just keep creating until the hard drive is at capacity. That said - I do not think that this issue is related to a failure to create these files, but a loop somewhere in the process that should not exist.
Temporary Fix:
- 2. Changing the local folder to a separate hard drive seems to have helped for now. Otherwise, I create a shortcut to the folder where they are located and delete them when I have a problem.

- 3. Resolved? No, definitely still an issue and I am not the kind of computer user who has the ability to fix this code although maybe it is as simple as finding where that loop is.
Just happened again while writing this, screenshot of error message included. Thunderbird is open (didn't crash) - simply ran out of hard drive storage after starting with 200 GB which is significantly higher than the storage required for the number of emails I have.

Separately -
I understand why a backup might crash when receiving new messages, but that is a pretty fundamental issue related to a local backup process. Something that I have dealt with regarding other software, but we also worked very hard to scrub that issue out in order to even be able to use it amongst a group.
